OLDSCHOOL EXOTICS & REPTILES LLC
Greater Central Florida • Mobile Animal Education
& Engineered Biospheres
OSER is a licensed and permitted, for-profit Florida LLC
specializing in mobile animal education and biosphere design,
with roots in years of documented educational
outreach in Marin County, California. Educational programs
are delivered at customer venues throughout Greater Central Florida.
OSER holds FWC Class III commercial wildlife exhibition
authorization under ESC Permit #891-008553 and Class III
wildlife import authorization under IMP-III Permit #818-003099.
The initial Florida launch includes Reptile, Cuddly Creatures,
and Hybrid educational outreach seminars featuring
reptile and small mammal ambassadors.
Our guiding principle: animal welfare through
choice, stability, and evidence-based care.

Our Approach to Animal Education
OSER specializes in educational animal outreach,
structured reptile and small-animal husbandry,
and custom, species-appropriate biosphere systems.
Programs emphasize safety, animal welfare,
and scientific understanding. Florida launch programming
includes Reptile, Cuddly Creatures, and Hybrid seminars
featuring ESC-permitted reptile and small mammal ambassadors.
OSER’s small mammals hold internal ambassador-grade status
and are included in the Florida launch lineup.
Participation depends on individual readiness,
animal welfare, and venue conditions.
Cuddly Creatures and Hybrid seminars remain available
in California and Washington, subject to scheduling
and ambassador readiness.
Our approach is implemented through repeatable
operational systems that guide how animals are
evaluated, supported, and engaged over time.
These systems emphasize environmental consistency,
predictable routines, and long-term behavioral
observation.
-
Founder-led educational outreach and
welfare-monitored interaction -
Longitudinal behavioral observation and
continuity-based welfare records -
Structured documentation, case studies,
and environmental observation records -
Proprietary operational methods developed
through the CSECM framework -
A California history of 237+ documented
educational presentations
These practices support low-stress educational
engagement and consistent environmental management
across OSER programs and biosphere systems.
Voluntary Participation & Ambassador Readiness
Every animal participating in an OSER program does
so voluntarily. Animals are never forced into
presentations or interactions. Primary handling
remains founder-only, with controlled audience
engagement and ongoing welfare monitoring.
Ambassador candidates enter OSER’s six-month
internal certification process, governed by its
proprietary CSECM doctrine. This is an internal
readiness framework. Qualification depends on
the individual animal’s readiness, not simply
the passage of time.
An ambassador’s role may be visual-only or,
where appropriate, include supervised tactile
interaction. If an animal chooses not to engage,
it is excused from that interaction and another
suitable, willing ambassador can be selected.
Our California History & Communities Served
OSER’s records document 237+ educational
presentations across its California operating
history, including work in Marin County and
the wider San Francisco Bay Area.
Over more than six years, this educational work
has served audiences including:
- Memory-care and assisted-living communities
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Schools and youth programs
- Churches and community organizations
This California experience established the
foundation for OSER’s Washington operations and its
mobile educational outreach across Greater Central Florida.
OSER’s California DBA and Washington LLC remain in operation.
Custom Biospheres & Private Client Support
Alongside educational outreach, OSER designs
and installs custom biosphere systems for private
clients. These client systems are sold as
private, non-exhibition installations.
Each biosphere is individually hand-engineered
around its intended residents and environmental
requirements, incorporating plants, microfauna,
natural substrates, and habitat structure.
Optional subscription support provides scheduled
maintenance to help sustain environmental stability
and husbandry continuity. Owners retain
responsibility for daily animal care and
observation between service visits.
Our Founder: Alexander Howard Jacobs
OLDSCHOOL EXOTICS & REPTILES LLC was founded by
Alexander Howard Jacobs, also known as Alex.
He remains OSER’s sole operator, with work
focused on reptile husbandry, behavioral
observation, educational outreach, and
habitat engineering.
Through years of applied animal care,
environmental study, and structured educational
programming, Alex developed operational methods
centered on welfare, behavioral consistency,
and long-term ecological function.
His direct field observation and study have
included desert, tropical, subtropical, and
montane environments. These experiences inform
his approach to microclimate planning, habitat
structure, and custom biosphere design.
Each OSER biosphere is individually designed
from the ground up, with attention to animal
health, ecological function, and long-term care.
Professional Certifications & Training
Alexander Jacobs’s professional training includes:
-
Master Herpetologist
— Amphibian Foundation -
Southeastern Master Herpetologist
— Amphibian Foundation -
Husbandry & Captive Management Certification
— Amphibian Foundation -
Venomous Handling Level 1
— The Rattlesnake Conservancy -
Venomous Handling Level 2R (Restricted)
— The Rattlesnake Conservancy -
Venomous Handling Level 2C (Captive)
— The Rattlesnake Conservancy /
Reptile Preservation Institute
This training informs OSER’s work in reptile
and amphibian husbandry, behavioral observation,
safe handling, ethical captive management,
and operational safety.
Our Proprietary CSECM Framework
Through years of applied work and longitudinal
observation, Alex developed a proprietary
identification and conditioning framework used
internally by OSER to evaluate individual
readiness, welfare, and suitability for
specific roles.
The framework uses structured documentation,
observations over time, and welfare indicators to:
- Track individual animal behavior over time
-
Recognize behavioral changes and potential
signs of stress - Assess ambassador suitability without coercion
-
Support consistent welfare practices
across environments
Decisions consider observed individual responses
alongside species-specific needs and context.
An animal’s species alone does not determine
its suitability for public interaction.
The specific mechanics remain proprietary.
OSER documents implementation through internal
records, case studies, behavioral observations,
and environmental monitoring.
